Effects of Gasoline and Smoking on Lipid Profile and Liver Functions among Gasoline Exposure Workers in Iraq

Introduction: The rapid and recent rise in the pandemic of cardiovascular disease implies that environment plays a significant role. Numerous biological systems, such as cardiovascular, blood-forming organs, liver, kidneys, can be affected by gasoline smoking. Because filling station employees, repair service workers, truck drivers, refinery workers are all at greater risk being exposed to fumes. Even though smoking have been investigated for so many years, few studies looked into effects exposure combined with on variety physiological mechanisms. As result, we propose combining is factor diseases impaired hepatic function. Methods: study included 95 male adult volunteers who worked were different fuel derivatives group age sex-matched seemingly healthy non-exposed people controls. Questionnaire interviews used collect socio-demographic data standard technique was blood samples. levels cholesterol, HDL4, LDL-C, triglyceride, VLDL measured, well liver enzymes ALP, AST, ALT, indirect bilirubin, direct total bilirubin measured. Results: Our suggest causes an increase bad cholesterol levels, shift concerning control lipid profile enzymes. had higher AST significantly increased. In nonsmoker D-bilirubin decreased comparison smoker group. Conclusion: This research concluded (ALP, ALT) among smoke than subjects, similarly, also increase. Therefore, handled having heart diseases.
